Download only from the official site: metamask.io
Choose "Create a Wallet" → write down the 12-word seed phrase on paper
Never share the seed phrase. Not with support, not with friends.
Send a small test amount ($20) before depositing large sums.
Install the official MetaMask extension only — fake versions are common.
